The Dignity Of Work

THE DIGNITY OF LABOR “All the people who work and high gentlemen who call the lower class.” Rafael Alberti. FOAT STILL IN THE AIR WASTE OF THE FORMER Reluctance I think they were the ministers of Charles III who attempted to remove “legislatively” prejudice. In any case, they were people of the Enlightenment. Those illustrated were designed to Spanish society, and worth the formula, some economic dynamism, and to achieve this, they started the operation incredible proclaim the dignity of work by a royal order. There was no choice. A bitter celtiberica tradition held that crafts were a shameful activity, a thing of the Moors and Jews, or at least of commoners.

It seems that in some outlying areas was not as evil rooted: it is said, and perhaps indeed. But the general trend could not be mistaken. In reality, the apprehension against the more or less profitable tasks also affected the commercial practice of the profession. In fact, all which were not “income” was suspect. Except for the farm was aristocratoides reasons: someone had to pay “rents.” The hypothetical bourgeois revolution, which was to have begun in the eighteenth century, not only encountered the difficulty of lacking bourgeoisie, but also a widespread distrust towards the management of the bourgeois. Caroline rulers failed to great results in his modest attempt to dignify labor.

And still floating in the air of the old wastes reticence. Foreigners who wandered the country, then and then drew the conclusion that laziness was endemic. No doubt, all was not laziness. Generally, it was lack of work. And the land assembly, in many provinces, did not allow a regular daily wage for agricultural workers. Later it was found that slightly changing circumstances, or after migration, branded as lazy citizens expressed a desire to work very effusive. In our country that goes at stake is not the “will” to work: the nostalgia for paradise Adam, devoted to leisure, lovable myth. Simply put, it accept the “benefit” of working and making a policy aimed at full employment. Today we work in these latitudes, more than ever. Of course, everywhere there were always people who do not work: the problem was Hispanic and that the rate of people being able and willing to work can not find work exceeds that of the surrounding countries. The surprise is it took several years of a new century and the problem continues. Because, as the poet said, “But do not forget that this dark / Spain here I present / sadly still persists.” Francisco Arias Solis We can always do something for peace and freedom.

American Customer

One of my classes in management focused on the repeat customer. The course emphasized the importance of the repeat customer to the financial wellbeing of the company. We spent hours discussing ways to turn "first time" buyers into repeat customers. This is not a new concept. We've all heard the term "customer is always right." And then there's the film we see every Christmas at Macy tries to get out "customer satisfaction" Gimbel. I prefer to take this concept one step further with what I consider the most valuable asset of a company, loyal customer. The loyal customer is going to buy your product or service, even though it is more expensive or personal inconvenience.

The loyal customer is the one who will recommend to its competitors. The loyal customer is one that will stand up and defend your business against unfair comments. The loyal customer is going to teach their children to buy your product or service, that may depend on your company to deal fairly and honestly. American companies, large and small, have been built on the backs of loyal customers. In his inaugural speech, President Bush declared: "As citizens we must uphold the principles of civility, courage, compassion, and character that requires a civil society in each of us." Civility is a word you do not hear much more. As companies have merged and investor pressure has increased, companies have lost their civility. The concepts of respect and fairness that have been the cornerstones of American businesses are crumbling.

Liquid Air

Have you ever heard of liquid air? The air liquefaction process was a major scientific achievement that took place 100 years ago. Even after 100 years there are only a few companies that liquify air, which is probably why you’ve never heard of it before. Liquids in the air is a cheap way to isolate different gases like oxygen and nitrogen. The task of the liquefaction of air began in 1892, when Frenchman Georges Claude began working with acetylene. At the time, acetylene was thought to be a very promising substance, as was used in lamps and lighting, but it was very difficult to produce and transport.

Georges Claude developed a method for liquefying air to remove the different components and isolate oxygen. Oxygen had nothing to do with acetylene at the time, but Claude felt that the use of oxygen may help reduce production costs necessary to acetylene fire separately. When Georges Claude heard that a scientist named Carl von Linde had managed to liquefy air, Claude set out to do it himself, but promised to make it faster and more efficiently. During the day he worked as an engineer in Thomson-Houston and spent his nights performing tests in an old warehouse. For two years he worked with a second hand engine of the expansion, implementation of trial and error experiments to solve all technical problems.

When you need to lubricate moving parts chilled replaced with petroleum oil so it will remain liquid until 140 degrees. To seal the moving parts using a dry leather packing between the piston and cylinder liner. And finally, after all these little tricks were launched, he succeeded! He created a system that uses cold air from the cylinder expansion to thin pre-cooled air pressure at the outlet of the exchanger. It was a simple matter to extract economic liquefied oxygen of this air. If the liquid in the air sounds like a mystical process now in an era full of advanced technology, imagine what people think of Georges Claude, when he told the world that would form a company that liquefied air! The company he formed called Air Liquide, and is now the world leader in industrial and medical gases and related services. Air Liquide’s core business is the supply of oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and other gases and services to all industries. Steel, petroleum refining, chemicals, glass, electronics, healthcare, food processing, metallurgy, paper, and aerospace industries are employing Liquide, Air Products and services. With a global presence of 130 subsidiaries in over 70 countries. What began as a small experiment to build private components of the low age has become an important modern enterprise.

Municipal Management

Municipal Management can prevent the disorganization of company structure. So much so, that in its time (end of year) there would be no reason to argue (before any action on) the alleged existence of problems or personal actions (subjective) and non-labor, pro or against the bosses, as this account management policy basic requirements for its legitimacy, which are: “opportunity, content, self approval and self-commitment.” Additionally, we must take into account that, for obvious reasons, each leader will have, timely and completely, require (a Municipal Management) the minimum required (under the responsibility, of course) in order to be able to achieve their goals self taxes.

On the other hand, interesting observation considering the fact that in the new management policy management mayor of the Municipality of Asia, you can clearly see a definite commitment of labor and social responsibility to take a position or function, but with a meaning, purpose, or objective defined. In other words, the clear and reasoned criticism and self-criticism, philosophical awareness, expeditious or performance, based on the principle that you can not go to a place or reach / achieve a target without first not be clear where one is found. Means in other words, stating that “if no one knows for sure where or in what conditions we are, we will be worse in a position to determine what we want or want to reach place, and knowing if the latter, will not only vague or misguided but impossible for us to do, to say the least. ” The most simple and relevant to what we thought: “We can not make a chair, if you have not previously before or at least knowledge or clear idea of what a chair.”

The above new management policy of municipal management, presents a two-pronged rationale: i) Functional .- based As justified by the introduction of pioneering and decisive “Business Policy / Management expeditiously” (directed more to the private business public in terms of guidelines and quality standards and efficiency), proposed, designed and executed by the Municipal Management District Municipality Asia, for this year 2009, and ii) Current .- Because it is justified also in the vital, urgent and unavoidable need for such guidance lead Municipality and implementation of management policy according to the highest speed, efficiency and production of the present times of information and technology, new standards of ownership / leadership of the modern administrative management, the increasingly evident development and growth of the District Asia and hence the recent increase, in turn, the load management / labor in this City, and finally also as a preventive measure against the increasingly tangible damage that is causing the global financial crisis.
